I was born in Iqaluit, where I've lived most of my life. I've had a lifelong fascination with archaeology and history. After graduating from Nunavut Sivuniksavut, I had the opportunity to join Inuit Heritage Trust as a summer student. Since then I've learned more about the heritage field. As IHT's Heritage Manager I work closely with the Director of Archaeology facilitating the community review of applications for archaeology permits. My work focuses on improving the benefits of Nunavut archaeology for Inuit, supporting the implementation of IHT's new archaeology guidelines and connecting archaeology permit applicants with community members who are interested in taking part in archaeology projects. ​

I'm also the current President of the Qajakkut Society who's mandate is the preservation of traditional qajaq-building. We undertake our own builds and facilite builds in Nunavut communities. Qajakkut is a non-profit organization that works in close partnership with IHT.
