For the past two decades I've worked at IHT. My focus has largely been IHT's Traditional Place Names Program, which involves documenting and preserving the invaluable knowledge of Inuit Elders captured in traditional place names. This collaborative effort empowers communities to reconnect with the land and ensures that these important names are accurately recorded, shared, and preserved for generations to come. We are actively creating paper maps with traditional place names for Nunavut that we distribute to the local communities. 

As Director of Traditional Place Names, I submit the names we've recorded to the Government of Nunavut as part of the process for making them official.
